Group Leader Guide
For Group Leaders — the person who creates a reading group, books the group's reading block, and rallies readers to fill the slots. Follow these steps to get your group ready for Biblathon 2026 (14–18 October 2026).
Before you start
- Your group's details (name, type, denomination, and whether it's open or closed).
- Where your group will read — your own venue, or your organisation's venue.
- The names and email addresses of the readers you'd like to invite.
- A quiet space and a strong, stable internet connection at your venue.
Pre-Event
Register as a Group Leader
If an organisation has invited you to lead a group, click the link in the invitation email you should have received — this links your group to that organisation. Otherwise, you're leading an independent group: open the Biblathon 2026 menu → Register and choose the Group Leader path. Either way, create your account, verify your email with the 6-digit code, and accept the terms. You'll land on your Main Dashboard.
Create and set up your group
Give your group a name and type, choose your denomination, and set it open or closed. Then confirm where it will read — your own venue, or your organisation's.
- Open groups appear in Find a Group so readers can request to join; closed groups are invite-only. You always have the last word in approving or declining each request.
- If an organisation invited you, your group is pre-approved. If you affiliate to one yourself, it is pending that organisation's approval. An independent group is active right away.
Book your Group Reading Block
From your dashboard, choose an available time in the schedule and confirm. Your block is divided into 12- to 18-minute reader slots (maximum 3 hours per day). You'll receive a confirmation email with the date, time, indicative books, venue, and how many readers your block holds.
Invite your readers
Invite readers by email, or share your group's join link. Each person gets a link to register and pick a slot in your block. Note: Family groups can also register household members who have no email (children, elderly) with guardian consent, and seat them directly into slots — choosing their language and Bible version.
Fill and track your block
Your dashboard shows readers registered against readers needed, and turns green when your block is full. Approve readers who request to join, and give a gentle nudge to anyone who hasn't booked their slot yet. As you create groups, you'll see new Group Dashboards line up next to your Main Dashboard, which gives you a comprehensive view of all your groups and their readers.
Read in your own group (optional)
You can take a slot in your own block too — book it like any reader from your Main Dashboard → Book a Reading Slot → Book with Your Group, and set your language and Bible version.
On the Day
Prepare your space
Arrive early and check your venue is ready — a room where readers can gather, a device with a camera and microphone for Zoom, and a stable internet connection.
Welcome your readers
Gather your readers and line them up in reading order so hand-offs are smooth.
Check in on time
Check in with your group at least 20 minutes before your reading time. At check-in you'll be told the exact chapter your group will read, with a suggested breakdown between readers.
Keep the relay smooth
Cue each reader, keep to time, and ensure clean hand-offs. Each reader finishes a chapter before handing over to the next.
Give thanks
Celebrate with your readers — together you have been part of a global, unbroken reading of God's Word.
